Lab Costs
Depending on the jurisdiction, the process may involve STR testing, Microarray, or Whole Genome Sequencing.
These lab fees can start at $750 and range up to $8,00 just for the lab output alone.
We are willing to donate as much pro bono time as possible and only charging cost for these services.
Note: At this time we have NOT been assigned any of these cases.
We do though, have over 14, 500 unidentified human remains cases across the United States that need your help too.

Law enforcement cases are only allowed in the FTDNA and GEDmatch databases (thankfully they allow us there). There are database access fees at about $1,000 per database, per case.
Sometimes identifications can be made in a few hours and many times it can take months, or years. We need funds to pay for the genetic genealogist's time, though we try to donate as much as possible. For example, our quickest LE case, was 48 hours. 48 x $20 per hour = $960. A 160 hour case will be $3,200 and that is at cost.
In addition to providing forensic genetic genealogy services, we also train civilians to aid the police.
We are offering half-off our normal tuition to support this effort.
